Eicher posts 9.2pc sales growth in June 2012

Eicher company recorded a growth of 9.2pc in sales for June 2012 as compared to the corresponding month last year. The sales included both domestic sales and exports. The total units for June 2012 stood at 4064 compared to 3723 units in June 2011. Domestic sales for June 2012 were 3767 units (3616 units). Exports for the period were 297 (107) units. Segments that saw significant growth in domestic sales were the goods carrier segment where Max. mass exceeded 5 tonnes but not exceeding 7.5 tonnes. Here the company sold 1041 units as compared to 519 units in June 2011. In the passenger carrier segment in the category where No. of seats including driver exceeded 13, the company sold 975 units in June 2012 as compared to 405 units in June last year. In the goods carrier segment where the max. mass was between 12 tonnes to 16.12 tonnes, the company sold 291 units as compared to 280. In the 16.2 tonnes plus segment for rigid vehicles, the company sold 223 units in June 2012 (212)
